Earns 51% of voter approval in Republican Liberty Caucus Straw Poll
HOUSTON, Texas Presidential candidate Ted Cruz continues to shore up his support among libertarian voters, earning 51 percent approval from voters participating in the straw poll held at the Republican Liberty Caucus in Nashua, NH over the weekend. We are very encouraged by the growing support we are seeing among liberty voters in the early states and across the country, Cruz said. I have spent my career defending and promoting the constitutional liberties that our nation was founded upon, and that are increasingly under assault today. From free speech and religious liberty to our right to bear arms and our right to privacy, I have been proud to lead on all these issues, whether before the Supreme Court or in Congress. If elected president, libertarian voters across the country can be confident that I will stand for the U.S. Constitution at every turn.
Sen. Cruzs strong performance in the straw poll comes at the heels of a growing coalition of libertarian voters organizing in the early states and across the country for the Cruz for President campaign. The campaigns Liberty Leaders coalition is chaired by former U.S. Congressman Bob Barr, with 25 former Ron Paul organizers and supporters leading efforts in the early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. Just a quick follow-up to correct that I am not the “author” of this piece, but rather just the one who cut ‘n’ pasted it from the tedcruz.org website.
Is this another hit piece on Trump? Or did this really happen? Just asking, don’t kill me.....
Why are posts favorable to Cruz assumed to be hit pieces on Trump?
I’m a strong supporter of Cruz but we are lucky enough to have a good field.
I like Trump and Carson as well as Cruz.
Yep. I have no problem supporting
Cruz and/or Trump. No need to trash
one to support the other.
I gather from some of the names this
is a Libertarian thing, as opposed to
libertarian.
This is virtually always Paul territory both father and son.
Paul 445
Cruz 399
Carson 139

No, this is not a hit piece on Trump. This was the Republican Liberty Caucus Conference and straw poll.
And, yes — it really happened! It took place in Nashua, NH.
Oh — I thought Cruz won!
In this case it is a virtual win considering the fact that this is a largely libertarian event.
Last time around Ron Paul led the 2nd place finisher by a full 35 or 40 percent.
Good. Cruz is one of the few who understands that our movement is a broad-based one, guided by principles, but not necessarily in lockstep on their application.
