Obama Gets ‘Feisty’ as Reporter Grills Him on Putin: ‘He’s Challenging Your Leadership
THE BLAZE ^ | Oct. 9, 2015 | Jon Street

President Barack Obama got “feisty” during an interview about Russian President Vladimir Putin, as one CBS News anchor put it.

In the interview, set to air Sunday on “60 Minutes,” Obama immediately pushed back from reporter Steve Kroft’s line of questioning about America’s leadership around the world, particularly in the Middle East.

“A year ago, when we did this interview, there was some saber-rattling between the United States and Russia on the Ukrainian border,” Kroft said. “Now it’s also going on in Syria. You said a year ago that the United States, America leads, that we are the indispensable nation. Mr. Putin seems to be challenging that leadership.”

“In what way? Let’s think about this,” Obama challenged.

Kroft noted Russia’s expanded military action in Syria and its other military operations in the Middle East, something Russia hasn’t done since World War II.

“So that’s leading, Steve?” Obama replied. “When I came into office, Ukraine was governed by a corrupt ruler who was a stooge of Mr. Putin. Syria was Russia’s only ally in the region.” Obama added that Putin is devoting his troops to the region “to barely hold together…his sole ally.”

“He’s challenging your leadership, Mr. President. He’s challenging your leadership,” Kroft said.

Again, Obama challenged that claim.

“I’ve got to tell you, if you think that running your economy into the ground and having to send troops in in order to prop up your only ally is leadership, then we’ve got a different definition of leadership,” the president replied.

The exchange stunned the anchors of CBS’ “This Morning,” Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell.

“Wow, Mr. Kroft,” Rose hailed.

“You’ve interviewed him many times,” O’Donnell added. “He seemed especially feisty this time.”

Obama was completely disoriented; he had no idea how to speak to a white person that didn’t pretend he was the second coming. He realized it might get out there that he has no clothes (since he is probably shielded from the truth about how many Americans regard him).

Yanukovych was Putin’s puppet, but he was corrupt in other ways, just as Putin himself is. But Putin’s buttlicking apologists are everywhere.

Obama needs to be challenged like this on every front. The Republicans need to man up and do the same thing. Make this lame duck what he really is. Start running all over him like he has the Constitution, the Congress, and this government the past few years.

>> Obama needs to be challenged like this on every front.

Obama was visibly offended by Kroft’s ‘leadership’ question underscoring his JV narcissism.

Curious what permitted this MSM reporting anomaly to circulate the public airwaves.

If it were a Republican President responding to Kroft, it wouldn’t be described as being “feisty”, it would be described as being “defensive”, “rude”, “uninformed”, you name it.

And O'Bomber knows a thing or two about that, now doesn't he.

I agree; at this point Obama seems focused on the pile of lies that will become his fabricated “legacy”. He has no accomplishments but race riots, sky-high unemployment (especially among blacks), the diminishing of the US as a world power, and a lowered bar for blacks in general in every area of life.

He knows full well. He is being totally defensive here. Can't admit the obvious and transparent truth with which he is confronted, just as he can't respond effectively to the challenge presented by Putin.

Seems to me that Russia is gaining influence all the time in the mid east. Iran may not be a formal ally but is drawing ever closer to Russia, and the other states are keeping a weather eye out for the strong horse. Putin is manifestly willing to act, and to disregard the US in the process, with impunity. That gets peoples' attention.

“I didn’t think “feisty” was ever used with grown men, but it suits our boy King.”

Na, “being an ass” is more fitting for the tard king.

I wasn't there unlike some of our commenters. But those numbers are true then you could also argue that Obozo says the Muslim Brotherhood is the legitimate government of Egypt because there were millions of protesters in 2011, a larger percentage of their 80 million people.

However, I don't give a crap about Ukraine, Egypt or Putin. There will be unintended consequences from allowing Putin to take over parts of the Middle East but those are squarely the fault of Obozo. There also may be consequences from giving up at least one part of Ukraine. But in both cases we have to face the fact that we are rapidly becoming second rate. We might as well focus on defending the Western Hemisphere and cyberspace.

Did Obola actually criticize Putin's economy?

And, by "sending troops to prop up your only ally", did he mean Putin actually lived up to his commitments?

What a rectum.

Thanks hinckley buzzard. The Iran deal (the Obama surrender document, IOW) was the precipitating event -- Putin escalated involvement to try to extricate the Assad rump regime from the control of his Iranian "allies". It's a show of force, it seems to have revitalized the fragment of Assad's army, and has led to changes of deployment for Iran's troops in Syria and its proxy thugs, the Hizbollah. Putin thought he'd bully Turkey a little while in town, and bet wrong on that, bigtime.

If a Republican, his spelling of words would even be called into question, despite having given oral responses.
