Donald Trump: I'd "be okay" with Paul Ryan as House speaker
CBS ^ | 10/9/15 | Jake Miller

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump told "Face the Nation" in an interview set to air in full on Sunday that he'd "be okay" with Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisconsin, as speaker of the House, despite the fact that Ryan "doesn't seem to want" the job.

"Well, I think he's somebody that probably that could get good support," Trump said of Ryan, who has been pressured by GOP lawmakers to enter the leadership race since House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-California, abruptly removed himself from consideration Thursday. "I think he's a very nice person. I think he doesn't want it very badly, but you never know. Maybe he's playing one of the great games of all time. It is Speaker of the House, I mean, it's a great position. But he doesn't seem to want it. But I'll bet you that if it was actually offered to him, he would take it."

I agree Trump certainly holds a few positions that do not please the pure-hearted conservative, but let us not make perfection the enemy of the good. The things he insists that we need to do are of utmost importance such as our porous borders and a moribund economy. Donald Trump is a tenacious warrior and that is what we need now. Remember, half a conservative loaf is better than none, and with Trump I think we will get two-thirds of that loaf. If any other republican is elected, whether a RINO or a Cruz, we conservatives will not see one single crumb of that conservative loaf. The Rinos in congress and the democrats will not fear that Republican but Trump, like Reagan, they will fear.

Because Trump is not a conservative. Simple.

What’s wrong with Webster? He was Speaker of the FL House and worked well with conservatives.

Where is Ryan’s voting rated that low? American Conservative Union has Ryan at 90% lifetime conservative voting, and 84% last year.

The 55% was from Heritage Action scorecard, by the way I used to love Paul Ryan if his name came up for speaker 5 years ago I would have been over joyed.

Then explain to me why Trump, whom you claim will give us “two-thirds” of the loaf is acceptable, while other GOP primary candidates, who arguably would give us well in excess of “two-thirds” are not.
