It’s pretty close to the jail, you are correct.

I used to mountain bike in the area; there’s an old abandoned lookout station above the jail on the hill.

Texan, you used to live around here? Some 45 years ago I went to Skyline College a couple of blocks away, just over a hill on the campus. We were aware of the jail. Some prisoner escaped and was caught in a home nearby. Not likely the inmates would bother students, as they would only be interested in getting away. A friend of my wife lived in a home bordering the campus. Some thieves broke in and stole all his guns (he was so sad). Now if an inmate did a break-in like that the inmate would be mighty pleased! Anyway, graduated from there before going on to State U. Skyline College is a great school, with good views of the Pacific and mountains, and now with new hiking and bike trails.
