When you get 10 20 times what your house is worth who can be against it?
The problem with e.d. is that the owner rarely gets more than his house or property is worth. It’s the opposite. In the case of the Atlantic City lady, she was offered a hell of a good deal. If people feel he’s wrong on eminent domain, and I think he is, they need to find another case where he stiffed somebody badly.
It’s an issue I disagree with but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
How about someone who values the property more than any amount of money?
I'll bet you can't find a state law in any state in this country which permits an eminent domain award of 10-20 times the value of the property seized. See if you can find one.
Just one.
RE: When you get 10 20 times what your house is worth who can be against it?
It is and should be a FREE decision made by the potential seller and nobody, much less the government using the power of coercion should decide for the property owner.
