Typical Bull. A firearm is designed to send one, or more, projectiles in the direction chosen by the PERSON who uses them. Can they be used to kill - of course - but, they also are routinely used to protect. The person choses, and is responsible for the outcome, not the tool.
Just as an auto can be sent over the road or over people, the driver is the element making that choice.
