Welcome to the real world PooP!
I’ve heard this is being interpreted in all kinds of ways. I’d wait before deciding.
Kim Davis was there and the Pope spoke to her at the Vatican embassy but a number of other people were there in the same visit.
I am sorry for the current Catholics, but you are right. We left the ELCA for the LCMS because of homo acceptance. They need to do the same thing. It is not right!!
That would entail a change in doctrine and they have not imagined the hurt that would visit this pope if he tried it. He would forfeit his doctrinal authority from that moment forward and give rise to a vast movement of sedevacantism. I doubt even Francis is going to go that far.
I was raised RC and still believe in the teachings. Right up until the Vatican changed them. And they did that long ago.
Do you have to live in your church?
I lived through John XXIII and Paul VI. I am not leaving the Roman Catholic Church, the Mass of my ancestors and the valid sacraments over this guy’s short term papacy. After J23 and P6, we got JP I, JP II and BXVI. I will trust in God to provide. Pope Francis is merely divine punishment for our sins. Whoever current Catholics may be, I am forever Catholic. I trust that you do not regard me as your enemy.
No. I don’t.
But I do like my particular church. I’ve been attending there a number of years. I’m a volunteer there. I like my pastor. I’ve made a number of good friends there over the years. I’m quite happy and content with my local church.
While respecting my Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ, it will NEVER be time for me to apostasize from the Roman Catholic Church, the Mass and the valid sacraments.
Thumbs Up, exactly, there have been bad Popes before from what I understand, I don’t know the history well but that is my understanding. God Bless You for your insightful words.
As one who is considering converting, this Pope and the Vatican aren’t helping.
Well then don’t complain about the things your pope supports. Simple math here. God does not require a building and a communist. Or a building and a good man. But your good man is empowering the communist and I doubt God is really happy about his word being bastardized.
Your call. But do not complain about what you refuse to stop supporting even if unwillingly.
I call BS on this. The Pope made a statement condemning gay “marriage” prior to his visit, but the media didn’t report it.
Him seeing Kim Davis disrupted their narrative that he’s gay-friendly and eventually will cave, and so this came out.
Francis is stuck with a curia that’s at odds with itself, with Communism infecting a good number of the clergy. This was prophesied to happen.
Now there is the Pope we have come to know and distrust.
This is an intensely personal decision on your part, and I don’t wish to influence your decision one way or another.
I will tell you this much: I love my Church and my faith as much as love my country and the ideals it stands. The Church is a human institution, just like our great nation. As such it has made many mistakes over the centuries, including the selection of the current Pope.
We don’t live in a perfect world or a utopia. We must deal with it the way it is, soldier on and do what we think is right.
God bless you and I pray you make the right decision.
I am glad to read your post. Maybe it is just media manipulation and bias. The left has really fixated on poor Kim Davis.
The article names him, Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi.
He’s the Vatican spokesman and the current director of the Holy See Press Office. This isn’t a minor behind-the-scenes figure. This is the Vatican’s official spokesman. He’s been quoted in many articles when the press wants a statement from the Vatican on global warming, child abuse and other issues.
Thank you for the reply; and God bless you, too.
The members of the Vatican may be regretful, which indicates that all of them have lost their way.
I understand that it can be difficult to leave a denomination after having poured so much of your life into it. Regardless of which church you may affiliate with, may you find full life in Christ.
