The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State launched only one airstrike Thursday in Syria, far below the daily average of eight, as Russian jets continued to pound various targets in that country.
But Army Col. Steve Warren, the top U.S. military spokesman in Baghdad, said the U.S. is not retreating, after Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered allied jets out of Syrian air space.

This is good news. Less chance for one of our boys getting shot down. If a Russian pilot gets shot down so be it.

The one airstrike was on earth excavators in northwest Syria. Col. Warren said targets are sometimes difficult to find in an air war that critics have said has excessively strict rules of engagementHuh?

Agreed. Let them handle it. They won’t be hamstrung in the task either.

And a "Mid-Air" will be whose fault?

“Good news for Assad and Iran. For the US and Israel not so much.”
How is Assad falling and ISIS moving right up the Israeli border good news for the US and Israel? This position always stumps me. Unless one is so naïve as to believe that the FSA and Nusra are somehow quiet thoughtful people who don’t scream Alluh Akbar and terrorize Christians.

Bibi seems to be handling it. McCain, Obama, Kerry and their tacit supporters not so much.

Do you think that ISIS is the major threat in the world to the US and Israel?

No group in the middle east should ever trust the US. We abandoned the Iraqi rebels after the gulf war and Saddam butchered them. We abandoned the democratic govts in Afghanistan and Iraq and now they are fodder. We abandoned the democratic movement in Iraq and now the Syrian moderates. Not to mention Israel and the Christian community. The US is bad news unless you want to move there as a refugee.

Huh?Our targets in the region have mostly been construction equipment.

So one should buy Caterpillar stock? Or Raytheon. The guided munitions we drop probably cost far more than the construction equipment they destroy.

Just for shits and giggles, Putin should give a briefing on the day's objectives and future strike operations and call out the Russian/Iranian/Chinese/Assad organization as:
Ground Operations Group (GOG), and the Navy/Marine detachment at Tartus and Latakia as:Marine Assault General Operations Group (MAGOG).
Watch heads explode......or the world.
