A sudden swell of enthusiasm for Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) to make a late-entry bid into the race for House majority leader faded almost as quickly as it began.
After being talked up by allies on Tuesday, Gowdy, who chairs the House Select Committee on Benghazi, decided against running for the House GOPs No. 2 post before his possible campaign could gain momentum among his colleagues.
Im not running. Im staying on the Benghazi committee, Gowdy said in an interview off the House floor before votes at 3:55 p.m. One hundred percent I am staying on the Benghazi committee.
Gowdy denied that he was ever really close to becoming a candidate for one of the Houses top jobs. Not really. Have I ever run for a leadership position? Ive never run for one
. I am staying on the Benghazi committee. Period. Exclamation point.

Fall?
Saying he wants to keep on the investigation is hardly what I would call a fall.

I like Gowdy but have lost a lot of faith in him due to his inability to find enough evidence that Hitlary and/or odumbo himself have blood on their hands due to the death of our people in Benghazi. It would seem that sufficient evidence has been rooted out to bring felony charges against both Hitlary and odumbo. If Gowdy would have gone on to accept the leadership position of the republican party, at this point, “what difference does it make?” Would he do likewise as Speaker of the House?

It all hinges on electing someone who is serious enough to put their AG appointee and justice appointment on the trail to follow it where ever it goes.

Nothing is going to happen when Obama has total control of enforcement. There is more than enough evidence but the justice department isn't going to pursue squat till someone else sits at the top.

The rapidity of Trey's declining to run for this secondary position in the House is a poker tell to me that he is looking at AG sometime in the future...not SOTH.

Then its over.
Some of you people are dumber than a box of rocks.

Hell, yeah he is staying
He sees what happens for non performance of a RINO as Speaker.
Figured a non performing chest thumper could last a little bit longer hidden in a committee.

Yea, they were afraid if he left the committee might actually find something on Hillary!Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Gowdy committee uncover the fact that Hillary had her own server and was using it to send classified emails. That's seems to me to be a pretty important development.

The only man I hear saying that "his" justice department will pursue the crimes of this administration to the fullest extent of the law without regard for party lines is Ted Cruz.

I like Cruz for President but if that doesn’t happen it would be great to see Cruz and Gowdy on the Supreme court. Replacing Kennedy and Ginsburg.

I doubt you would post that were he YOUR Representative in Texas.

It simply amazes me how so-called conservatives here at FR can turn on their best allies in congressso quickly. They are infants.

The House is filled with cowards.
Goudy’s investigation is going nowhere and leading the house at this time is a moral imperative. If nobody in the House is willing to step up to the plate, then bring in somebody outside. I’m sure Sarah Palin or Ted Cruz would not turn down the job. Goudy is a coward. Time to replace everyone.
