This is the ‘Best Post of the Year’
This is a MUST WATCH speech. Cruz really lays it out.
I hope he’s appointed to the Supreme Court at some point. We need him there.

Whenever I indicate how I wish Cruz would be our president, people bring up the governmental shut down, and act like this was something terrible that Cruz did to the country. First, it was Obama who shut down the government, not Cruz. Second, remember what Cruz was fighting against? It was Obamacare. He was our last best hope to end this forever. It was Obama who shut down the government because he refused to approve the spending bill which defunded Obamacare. What Cruz is saying here is true. Republicans cave at every fight because they fear Obama will shut down the government, and they know now how the media will paint them as the villains.

Replacement isn’t going to work. We’ve already replaced these asshats time after time. And when push comes to shove, we can count on maybe a handful to act the way we would want and expect.
This is a losing game. Worse, its a suckers game. Political three card monte and we’re the marks.
I’m ready for a different game.
Amen! Rep. Jim Bridenstine is part of Cruz’s campaign team. He spoke at a meeting that a friend of mine went to in Tulsa. He basically echoed what you just wrote. Cruz knows the game is rigged. He’s building a coalition of rocked ribbed conservatives around the country.
I think it is possible Cruz believes it. Remember, he really wanted to believe Mitch was telling the truth. I think he desperately wants to see the good in the people he works with and wants to believe these people have a conscience that still feels an occasional twinge of something.
I was listening to it while my daughter was in the room and she got scared. My wife was completely taken aback by what he was saying. I had to fast forward parts of the speech on account of my daughter getting obviously scared. She is nine years old. But Cruz is right. A lone voice (along with Lee) in the wilderness. What an awesome man he is and him calling out those of his own party being complicit is a true test of character. He might be a lone wolf in DC but millions share his passion and concern. I hope America wakes up and give this man the mandate he so richly deserves.
Ted Cruz reminds me of the founding fathers. He doesn’t do what benefits him. He does what benefits the country.
And he’s standing up to tyranny just like our founders did.
He’s fighting this battle alone and he doesn’t care.
Washington would have liked him.
I couldn’t agree with you any more
You stated it very well in a few sentences.
I scream at them, curse then, threaten them.
I hate the republican party just as much as the rats.
So, how many Senators were actually in the Chamber to witness this speech? Would I be far from the truth if I guessed perhaps three - including Senator Cruz?
Don’t just read the transcript. Watch Sen. Cruz deliver the speech. Amazing.
