The article does not live up to the inflammatory title and first line. All 3 were punished for disruption. The suspension had nothing to do with the Confederate Flag.

The lockdown came later in the day. Per the article the lockdown drill was i response to the rumors which kept floating around and this was the best way to get a lid on it.

“But later in the morning, the school was put through a lockdown drill with students kept in class after rumors of other students bringing Confederate battle flags surfaced.”

Think about that - the mere thought of a Confederate Flag led to a lockdown....and “lockdown” sounds like a term used in prison anyway.

Do you think rumors of a rainbow flag, Soviet flag, or even a Mexican flag would have resulted in a lockdown? I doubt it. But apparently a Confederate flag now poses a security risk. Something is backwards about that.
