Me too - I am a computer tech, and were I to go down the SmartPhone trail, I would get nothing done at all... As it is, it takes me most of the morning to get out the door - spending most of my time answering mails, texts, and posts, while starting pre-scan and bench-work in the office. Once I finally get out the door, my available free time greatly expands, as I will stop to catch messages and return calls only about three times during the length of the afternoon.
I don't know how SmartPhone users can cope with the volume.
Nor do I. But I know how they CAN. Turn the damned things off. Schedule time to catch up. Stay off Twitter. That's it. But...turning their smart phones off is akin to chopping off a thumb. They can't do it.
As I drive around, seeing so many people with phones glued to their ear, I shake my head. Why can't these people turn off the phone until they reach their destination? Why endanger yourself and others for some (most likely) useless conversation? Do they not realize that voice mail works when the phone is off? I'll bet there is a large percentage of lusers who don't.
