The Boston Marathon passes about 100 yards from my front door.Last spring,in the weeks before the race,state and Federal agents could be seen marking and sealing manhole covers,inspecting trash cans and mailboxes...as well as doing other things.On Marathon Day there were many,*many* National Guardsmen...with sidearms...along with state and local police.

IOW...authorities were taking security *far* more seriously than they had in earlier years (I've lived here for years).

If security is taken as seriously in the Twin Cities one would think that authorities wouldn't tolerate *any* tomfoolery by *anyone*.

Hopefully, the Feds will be running the show during the marathon. The violent crime/murder rate in MPLS. has taken off, recently. The spineless lesbian Police Chief has her hands full and really can’t afford to be distracted, right now.

What is somewhat encouraging, right now, is the fact that no one in authority is saying ANYTHING about how they are going to handle BLM. Instead of blurting out their plan, maybe they actually have a good one and aren’t going to make the mistake of announcing it to the world ahead of time.
