Here's one piece of GOPe philosophy from Speaker Boehner on CBS this morning:

"It takes courage to do what you can do"...."it doesn't for those things you can not do."

Ask Ted Cruz about that. Boehner's view of what can and can not be accomplished is the issue here and fatal flaw with this party.

Sure California is full of libs, but if you want to be president you are going to have to carry some lib states.
Are you saying Carly could carry Kalifornia? A bit delusional, if so.

No, that has already been proven. My comment is more towards other states that trend lib.

I ever thought about your theory that Hillary pooh-poohs Keystone and the admin postpones the email investigation.

I don’t really buy it but things like this are de rigeur for this administration and the Clintons.

This email thing is killing her slow.

What bothers me is I rather like it.

Hiya Cousin Mike!

So everybody been complimenting your post so I had to go
back and read it.

Yeah....as to this administration trying to expose Hillary....I got to think there’s also incriminating stuff on her emails re the administrating, particularly Benghazi.

Got to tell you....I got a great coat of arms for McLaughlin!

Who knew there ever was one!

And it’s not a whiskey bottle!

And just as a reminder, the "email" controversy should be called the "national security", or "Benghazi cover-up" scandal.

I worry ...actually I'm positive...low info voters wonder what's the big deal about a bunch of emails ?

A wise elite would consider allowing Hillary to get away with lawlessness a bridge too far and withdraw, forcing the law to prevail.

The wisdom would have to include how to take down Hillary without taking Bill with her. She probably has too much evidence regarding Bill's dirt to make a clean split between the two.

The only workable solution might be to pull a Rosemary Kennedy on Hillary and lobotomize her. Then she would sound like Joe Biden and nobody would take her seriously.

thanks very much bud!
This is a great thread. We have lots of great input.
...............
My next quest will be to learn more about Kevin McCarthy—possibly taking Boehners place— who he is, what we can expect and will there be more of the same or not.
anyone who has any info on him please post it here.

Just try it. Unfortunately, that is not the way it works. Life is unfair. And we don't control the levers of power.

You are right in so far as being compelled to obey the law when force is used, however...

What is lost is the MORAL obligation to follow the law. Consider the black markets that evolved in the Soviet Union. Certainly the punishment for getting caught, especially if you were a lowly peasant or non-important entity was horribly cruel: death, gulag (slow death) even punishment of your entire family, yet many tens of thousands wound up involved in the black market as both sellers AND buyers (with either role getting punished).

Right now, we have exactly such a situation with illegal aliens, whether creeping in from Mexico or not taking that return flight to home they said they would. We have cities disobeying the law by declaring themselves Sanctuaries (from the law). Tens of thousands, maybe millions smoke (illegal) pot, take drugs, drive drunk, heck, even disobey the speed limits and other traffic laws.

Every blatantly illegal act by a powerful government official, protected social class or an elite only contributes to and justifies lawlessness by everyone else.

Was there ever a time when the majority of our elected officials felt a moral obligation to do their duty and follow the law? Maybe once upon a time, but I can tell you that I do not think there are many left in this day and age!

I think it’s sad Boehner hasn’t resisted the economic hole the Democrat’s brought on with their vote buying, and it may well have been his golf game with Obama that influenced his many ‘compromises’.

With almost 4% growth in GDP, 5% Unemployment rate, and record level stock market indexes, why can’t the Federal Reserve raise the interest rates? And why isn’t most the Republican party cluing in on this fiscal anomaly?

McCarthy is Boehner's deputy. There will be no change if he is moved up into the position.

McCarthy is a CA moderate Rep. He is an amnesty supporter. NumbersUSA gives McCarthy a D- on immigration

McCarthy co-authored a book with Cantor and Ryan called Young Guns. He shares their views of conservatives, i.e., not good.

Problem with the email thing is that Benghazi is where the real jeopardy is and ozero is up to his ears. Where he was during the fighting is the big story. they don’t want that to get out and will do almost anything for hillary to keep that from getting out.

Agree with you. And it has gone on regardless of who is in the WH. Sanctuary cities have been a reality since the early 1990s. Bush 43 was almost as bad on immigration as Obama who has taken it to a whole new level.

The Foxnews fair and balanced logic allows being wrong to be a valid alternative, and Democrat shills on Fox will tell so, like how the Stimulus bill saved us from the ‘brink’(?), yet it never worked as promoted, 3.5 million jobs and 90% in the private sector...Fed still can’t raise rates 7 years on—no economic stability yet all that debt.

Exactly Benghazi hold lots of jeopardy for the dear leader and the hildabeast. When it’s learned who the security was that was supposed to be guarding Stevens was and who they were really loyal to it will all hit the fan.

answer is that most everything that happens has at least one tentacle designed to ignore our fiscal disaster and the debt bombs in place by the regime.
