So I sat and waited like an idiot for the stupid Boehner presser, and he cancelled it an hour before I found out he had left for the bar. Grrrr

Boehner Cut Deal With Pelosi to Avoid Government Shutdown
According to those sources, outgoing House Speaker Rep. John Boehner and Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi agreed that her Democratic caucus would join Boehner along with a handful of Boehner loyalists and moderate establishment Republicans to continue Planned Parenthood funding, along with a few other budget items President Obama says were must-haves, in order to avoid a Government shutdown.

Too little too late. There should have been mass resignations years ago...

He should resign. In addition to being incompetent as a speaker, he’s got serious mental health issues. No one cries as much as he does unless they’re dealing with some health problems. The older he gets the worse the emotions get. Most people that cry the minute they start talking are in rest homes.

This is great news, next up, McConnell.
I’m proud of my Rep today, Tim Huelskamp. He voted against these liberal GOPe and they did their best to try to punish him, taking away his chairmanships, spent a lot of money trying to defeat him in the last election. The local medias tried to slant stories against him. The DUmmies and Daily KOSmunists came in trying to influence the local elections through local social medias and comment sections. Yet, Huelskamp survived.
All Kansans should be proud of him for doing the right thing and fighting the corruption in Washington DC, regardless of party.
CGato.

I actually have mixed feelings about this.
Boehner has been something of a disappointment: An expanded majority in the House (post-2014 elections) has not resulted in any specific gains, so far as I can see.
On the other hand, John Boehner typically votes the right way (as I see it); so I am not at all happy about his leaving Congress, as of the end of October.
