It reminds me of Salem, Oregon, concentrated home of self-professed liberals who raised cain when the city tried to name the street in front of their homes after Martin Luther King. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to honor Dr. King, it is that they didn’t want their home values affected by the supposed association with minority areas of the city.

In a similar vein, when we moved to NY State in Y2K, we liked a house on Clinton St. We wouldn’t buy it. Clinton!? I don’t think so.
