“And if you think “if I feel strongly, then I’ll just ignore their rules” is a valid response, I just don’t know what to say.”
What is going to happen if you light up where you are not supposed to (airline bathrooms notwithstanding)?
REAL tyranny is tobacco taxation, but nobody cares about that, for some reason.
When Americans are compliant, more regulations follow, where they are not - well that’s where you get to test whether it’s tyranny or not.
I’m a bit in disbelief comparing genocide to smoking, but you’re free to make that comparison, but don’t ask me to take you seriously.
What is it with the hyperbole with smokers? You willingly pay absurd taxes, but someone tells you not to smoke somewhere and you suddenly wake up?
Light up wherever you feel like it - see what happens.
A better response would be boycott this heavily-taxed product (ala the Boston Tea Party) in a coordinated manner to deprive the gov’t of revenue - but we all know that isn’t going to happen (and why).
You are clearly a stage 1 thinker that does a lot of logic twisting and turning in your own mind. You don’t even have the faintest understanding of Liberty vs Tyranny.
May I recommend that you study/read some Alexis de Tocqueville.
