I am a volunteer usher at a Catholic church. I am required by state law to receive regular training in child abuse reporting, and undergo mandatory background checks, due to the past sins of pedophile Priests. And my interaction with children is pretty much limited to pointing a finger in the direction of the bathroom when asked.

The state is now trying to incorporate MANDATORY fingerprinting into the background checks. A lot of us have big First Amendment issues with the state compiling a biometric database of all clergy and active church members.
