Carly Fiorina Says Ben Carson 'Wrong' On Muslim President Comments
ABC News ^ | September 22, 2015 | Jordyn Phelps Katherine Faulders

Responding for the first time to Ben Carson's comment that he would not advocate for a Muslim president in an interview on NBC's "The Tonight Show," Republican presidential contender Carly Fiorina said Carson's position is "wrong."

“I think that’s wrong,” Fiorina told Jimmy Fallon in an interview on Monday. “You know, it says in our Constitution that religion cannot be a test for office. It is also true that this country was founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that anyone, of any faith, is welcome here."

He didn't get suckered, he got flat mischaracterized.

I'll never believe anything the snakes in the MSM say - about ANYTHING.

What is absolutely false? Is it false that I hear Cruz’ statement every half hour on the radio in an effort to hurt Carson? No because I hear it with my own ears. So I want to know if Cruz has changed his response as the facts as he knows them become clearer. You could link me to that?

And a ridiculous number of “Conservatives” posting on FR and across the net.

Liberal yes. But they CLAIM to be conservative and they bastardize what we are supposed to be about. It’s HOW the GOP marginalized us from day 1.

That was weak. No mention of shariah at all, just a quote for the MSM idiots to broadcast all day on something Carson never broached. Now my first choice has been Cruz but if he doesn’t take on shariah I will have to reconsider I guess.

I agree. Fiorina should have kept her mouth shut. Instead she fell right into the trap the media set for her.

First, the Republicans need to stop trying to answer these hypothetical, "gotcha" questions from the media. They ask these loaded questions to create a controversy over the respondent's answers and they are going to answer incorrectly 100% of the time because the Leftist media's job is to catch them saying something that is not PC popular at the moment. Carson should have said, "That question is not an issue in this campaign because there are no muslim candidates running for president right now. Next question." Put a stop to it before you get tangled in their web.

Second, these Republican candidates should not be trying to speak in the politically correct lingo of the liberal Left. This is where Fiorina, Graham, Christie, Walker, Bush the other RINOs are wrong. Since the liberals created politically correct speech, and are the arbitrators of what is PC and what is not, the conservatives are stepping right into the liberal's trap when they try to couch their words and responses in that same PC language and phraseology that the Left controls. They can't win. An example is Trump's initial response to that questioner in New Hampshire. If he had decided the guy needed to be corrected, the Left would have criticized him for trying to stifle the man's freedom of speech. If he said nothing, like he did, the Leftist media excoriated him for not defending Obama's religious preference like they claim McLame did in 2008. Well, look how that turned out for McLame. He lost. Trump was criticized by the media for not saying anything. Good for him. How does Trump know what religion Obama is? Obama acts like a Muslim but says he's a Christian. He also lies every time he opens his mouth, so what is the truth? Trump did the right thing by saying it wasn't his obligation to defend the president. He is the OPPOSITION after all. Not in Trump's job description as a presidential. Let Obama defend himself.

Cruz has adopted Reagan’s 11th as his press policy.

I don't believe President Reagan ever used that to avoid discussing policy differences between him and other candidates when running for office. The problem was that it was turning nasty and the 11th was used to tamp down the tone.

Time to redefine Islam as a political ideology and not a religion.

Exactly what I’d expect from her. She’s even more pro muslim than obama. At least obama wasn’t lecturing us two weeks after 911 about what a wonderful thing islam is and how they saved the world. (Not to defend obamahe’s still a goat humping miserable p.o.s.)

Either theses other candidates are hard of hearing, don’t understand the English language or are purposely being obtuse when it comes to Dr Carson’s comments.

You are in weird territory.

Cruz has done nothing to ‘hurt’ Carson.

If you’re hearing things, there is medication for that.

Fiorina: It is also true that this country was founded on the principle that we judge each individual and that anyone, of any faith, is welcome here.

imardmd1: Wrong. Anyone willing to defend the Constitution, which tolerates all faiths and prefers none, is tolerated here. Welcomed is another story.

detective: Our Constitution directly contradicts Sharia Law. Therefore, no Muslim who believes in Sharia Law could protect and defend the Constitution.

imardmd1: Correct. Mohammedism, like Communism. consists of a form of government contrary to the United States Constitution, and participation of its adherents in Constitutional processes should be forbidden to those whose allegiance is toward its destruction. That includes Armed Forces, law-making, administration and enforcement, and public education.

On the other hand, ones private thoughts and preferences are ungoverned and ungovernable, out of reach of Constitutional law, and therefore tolerated and tolerable.

Unfortunately, our Chief Magistrate, trained in both Mohammedanism and Communism and preferring both in conducting his office, though professing Christianity, ought to be removed on the basis of the sufferance of both these influences and being engaged in high crimes against the State, in my opinion.

Advancing the interests of Mohammedanism by giving the refuge by offering citizenship to its practitioners and dismissing the requirements of allegiance to the Constitution seems to be a high crime, does it not?

And Carly Fiorina confuses her role as (unsuccessful) executive of a profit-making business with that of the office and limitations as the executive of a free country. (So does Trump, for that matter, while Ted Cruz and Ben Carson do not.)

No, he didn’t. He said he wouldn’t support a Muslim as president, not “it should be illegal for a Muslim to be president.”

I'd like to hear his views on Sharia as well but he clearly did not wish to have that discussion during this interview. Thats fine, he's trying to control the dialogue.

The fact is in this case he has been mischaracterized - flat lied about.
