The armies of the western democracies, especially the USA, are too socially, racially, political, ethnically, economically and ideologically fragmented to implement and sustain a coup. Such intergration would prevent any one or small group of officers from even being able to organize a coup.

It would make for a heck of a civil war. I think you’re correct, as the military took sides, there would be a very, very sharp racial divide.
