Of course they're not talking about McCain making an issue of Obama's Christian faith. What they're talking about is McCain NOT talking about Obama's purported Muslim faith. When Obama says "my Muslim faith", he's referring to the Muslim faith that he is
presumed to hold by some people.
Instead of saying "my Muslim faith" he could have said "my presumed Muslim faith" or "the Muslim faith that some have falsely ascribed to me". But he didn't, because the context makes it evident what he meant. He didn't need to add extra words.

Actually, looking at the video, I think you have a good case. But still, if a REPUBLICAN had said those exact same words, they would still be echoing throughout the media today.
