As Jeb Bush was campaigning to be governor of Florida, real estate mogul Donald Trump sought a meeting with one of Bushs closest allies in the state legislature...
Trump wanted to discuss his plan to loosen Floridas gambling restrictions so he could partner with an Indian tribe and open a casino in the state. He met twice with the lawmaker, then-soon-to-be state House Speaker John Thrasher, once for lunch at the 21 Club in New York and again at Trumps extravagant Palm Beach estate, Mar-a-Lago....

I got no real issue with casinos even though I am no gambler.
My Issue with Trump is he rolls with the Mafia guys is a big wheel and has still lost.
How in the F do you screw up a Casino?
You run the house odds
Hmmm...did Donald Trump do anything illegal, immoral, or just plain wrong in his pursuit of establishing a resort gambling casino in Florida? The article doesn't even come close to documenting a yes answer to any of those questions. All it did was string together some actions of Mr. Trump that may not even be related.
Very interesting that the Washington Post would waste valuable column space on an article with no substance. It's behaving almost like an enemy of the Republican Party by attacking the party's front runner. Fancy that.
Hey he might as well be a Pornographer.
Seriously
Bush wasn't Governor when Trump and his partners were trying to get support from then Governor Lawton Chiles
Lawton Chiles served as Governor from January 18, 1991 to December 12, 1998
Jeb Bush went in as Governor January 5 1999 to January 2 2007
Trump did however give Jeb some campaign money, which he does to all candidates, and did have one lunch with him, but Trump decided not to go with the Seminal Indian Resevation to build a casino in Fla.
LOL at the GOPe trying to make something out Trump lobbying, when they sell the country out for free meals.
She’ll fizzle like every other astroturfed small fry candidate du jour that the GOPe is throwing against the wall trying to get one to stick, to get rid of Trump, and clear the way for Yeb.
Jeb wanted a huge up-front payout. Trump didn’t pursue. That’s it in a nutshell.
We’re now seeing TDS - Trump Derangement Syndrome - as the MSM, GOPe, DNC and the entire punditocracy go bats**t crazy trying to topple the big guy.
Wait! We’re in charge here, how did he get in!
Trump has a multi billion dollar reputation, if he says it i believe it.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So people with more $ lie less as they have less reason to lie?
Hillary has lots of $ and she needs a multi billion$ reputation
Would you recommend that she make more $ so she would have less reason to lie?
What they don't find amusing is the truth he speaks. It threatens their delusions and fabrications--and especially their positions of influence and privilege.
Ok. Trump lied and he failed to get a casino in Florida. so what? I doubt it affects his support
What one is seeing vis-a-vis Trump is the left coming together on two created “issues” and creating a boom to destroy Trump. We will be bombarded with celebrities, newspaper articles, comments by TV Hosts and left leaning TV hosts. The left is capable of operating like a choreographed ballet; i.e. hundreds repeating the same points in almost the same words.
I have decided that I will never vote for bush. He totally lied about Trump. Trump never talked to bush about Casinos!! If he had— SO WHAT?
"The one guy that had some special interests that I know of that tried to get me to change my views on something -- that was generous and gave me money -- was Donald Trump. He wanted casino gambling in Florida --"
The WaPo story says:
Trump had donated to the state GOP, and, according to Thrasher and another former state official who held meetings on the issue on Bushs behalf, made his views known in the state capital.
So Trump was correct on the specific charge that he gave Bush money because he gave it to the state Republican party instead.
Trump did try to influence casino gambling in Florida, which by itself is not a problem. Trump could have admitted his general interest in the issue and still deny the specific charge of donating to Bush.
I chalk this one up to a minor mis-remembering of a side fact in the heat of moment of a debate, while still being right on Bush's main charge that he's his own man and can't be bought by special interest money as proven by taking Trump's money and not delivering casino gambling. Bush never took Trump money as he claimed in the debate.
This reminds me of when Al Gore tried to show leadership examples in a debate by saying he flew in a helicopter over Texas floods when he never did.

Are you certain that one of those others Senator Ted Cruz R..Texas...belongs in that category?Based on what he says, no. Based on his voting record, YES.
You tell us which one is the lie.
I am capitalist but Trump is the mafia,
Jeez I wanna like the guy but I know he will leave my dead ass cold on the side of the road
That woman was not very bright, but I suppose her children influenced her, thinking it will be worth more later.
I know that from personal experience dealing with my brothers on selling our mother's property (while she was alive, and at her request) We had a very good offer....NO NO, it will be worth MUCH more later on. After she died and 10 years later, keeping up the repairs, taxes etc. It sold for about 1/3 of what the original offer was. Dumped it. Idiots.
What this woman should have done is SELL at Trump's offer and take a Life Estate., she can live in it until she dies or chooses to move.....win/win for everyone.
