A suspect in the Phoenix-area freeway shootings has been arrested, authorities announced late Friday.
Leslie Allen Merritt Jr., 21, was arrested at a Wal-Mart in Glendale, a suburb west of Phoenix, at about 7 p.m., said Daniel Scarpinato, a spokesman for Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey.
Department of Public Safety Director Frank Milstead announced the arrest at a news conference, two hours after the arrest. Milstead said the suspect was arrested for four of the 11 shootings. Merritt has not been formally charged yet.
The shootings Merritt was arrested for took place on Aug. 29 and 30. The agency said the man faces a range of charges that include criminal endangerment, assault and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Milstead had previously called the incidents domestic terrorism crimes.
Police say the four shootings he allegedly committed hit a tour bus, SUV and two cars along a stretch of Interstate 10. No one was injured.
"Are there others out there? Are there copycats? That is possible," Milstead said, adding that the investigation continues.

It sounds like a loser who thought that becoming infamous is better than being unknown.
He found out that THERE WAS NO SOFA IN HIS CELL.
Doesn’t look like he’ll be getting much sleep for awhile.
This is gonna be torture!!
This cell has no a Sofa, no Grand Theft Auto game, no free laptop for Internet, no sandwich bags of Medical Marijuana, not one liter of Mountain Dew, probably no banquet sized bags of Ranch Doritos either!
He will use his one phone call to call Senator John McCain, he would understand.
should be executed - post haste
That might be extreme given that nobody was injured. I guess he was lucky that in addition to be a sick, pathetic loser he is a terrible shot.
Irony at its best...he was arrested at WALMART!
Not irony. On purpose.
Did no one notice that he was being trailed, and LEOs chose a high-traffic are with lots of vulnerable innocents around to take him down?
