President Obama, in a historic first for the Pentagon, has chosen to nominate Eric Fanning to lead the Army, a move that would make him the first openly gay civilian secretary of one of the military services.
Fannings nomination is the latest in a series of actions taken by the administration to advance the rights of gays and lesbians throughout the federal government. The Obama administration has overhauled internal policies to provide benefits to same-sex partners, appointed gay men and lesbians to the executive branch and the federal bench and ended the 18-year ban on gays serving openly in the military.
Fanning, who must still be confirmed by the Senate, has been a specialist on defense and national security issues for more than 25 years in Congress and the Pentagon. As Army secretary, he would be partnered with Gen. Mark Milley, who took over as the Armys top general in August. Together the two men would assume responsibility for the Pentagons largest and most troubled service.

And they thought Caligula was crazy for appointing his Horse to the Senate.
I think the horse would make a better Senator or even President than what we have now.

Do you want to entrust your 18-year-old to the military now?
Well, I have a stepbrother and two stepsisters from my father's second marriage and I had a niece who wanted to join the Army. We tried to convince her not to do it because of the way things are but she did anyway. As fate has it, she has psoriasis (skin condition (sp)) so she was rejected anyhoo. Even so, it saddens my father, as a veteran, when he said, "I would not join the service to defend this country anymore," In 1985, I would be angry at that thought but now, I have to agree the way we are headed. Sad, isn't it?

Yeah. Should have looked closer. Sure is nice to have my computer change what I write to what it thinks I meant.
Wonder if that "feature" can be turned off.

No. He's f***ing idiot that couldn't even get through school without affirmative action. He couldn't even write his own book. He Admitted that he was a terrible student and liked to spend his time doped up in "total immersion" in pot smoke. He got to where he is in the same manner he won the "Nobel Prize". Because stupid white guilt liberals fall all over themselves in hopes of atonement from supporting their new chocolate messiah. It's really that simple.
I often refer to Obummer as "an AntiChrist," not "The AntiChrist." In short, he would be to the AntiChrists out there something akin to being a stupid, lazy and shiftless brother or cousin tht cannot do anything of real importance and keeps coming back to crash on your couch after an all night binge. Even so, a dumbed down AntiChrist can and is very dangerous as well. Even my father refers to him as "Step and Fetch-It," back in the 1940's, he saw a lot of those old shorts as a kid in the movies.

Our senate will cave of course. Kabuki will be given to conservatives, but thats all. It will be all as effective as a Daryl Issa special committee.

I understand and wasn’t nit picking. Actually I felt a little silly after I did that.
That “feature” on my computer also has a mind of it’s own at times. LOL

Hold on Now!!!
We do have the part of the horse that crossed the fence just before the tail sitting in office and in many high positions.
Kind of reminds me of BO on a stage in cow country and an ‘old timer’ is introducing him with a fly in close proximity.
The ‘old timer’ shooed the fly away but it kept returning and the ‘old timer’ quipped - Sorry sir but that is one of those ‘circle flies’, it is attracted to a horses ass.
BO thought a couple of minutes and said “WAIT A MINUTE! Are you calling me a horses ass?”
“No sir, I have far to much respect for the office you hold, BUT it sure is hard to fool them flies”.

Amen. He did not get to the White House by himself. He was put in there by a majority of those that voted.

Wikipedia lists his occupation as:
government official
Doesn’t look like he’s EVER done anything in his life except as a hanger-on at different public agencies.
To: illiac
He may be super qualified on paper but our enemies will see this as weakness and appeasement. Appeasement leads to war. A very risky decision. Just a fact. .
Four hundred and some more days. .
