Jeb Bush says it will cost "hundreds of billions of dollars" to deport illegal aliens. President Eisenhower, however, deported a million alone in the space of a year, and with only 750 deportation agents, in an operation with a name we would never use today: Operation Wetback.
Some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught... Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country. By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily.
Unlike today, Mexicans caught in the roundup were not simply released at the border, where they could easily reenter the US. To discourage their return, Swing arranged for buses and trains to take many aliens deep within Mexico before being set free.
Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships, the Emancipation and the Mercurio. The ships ferried the aliens from Port Isabel, Texas, to Vera Cruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles south.
The sea voyage was "a rough trip, and they did not like it," says Don Coppock, who worked his way up from Border Patrolman in 1941 to eventually head the Border Patrol from 1960 to 1973.

Ike after Reagan my favorite President.
Cut off freebies.
No public benefits paid to illegal parents of anchor babies.
Stop birthright citizenship.
Deport on contact.
Just arrest the mayors & city council members of all sanctuary cities and try them under the RICO Act. Done.
There is one serious issue that MUST BE CONSIDERED
Sending 20 million illegals back into Mexico WILL have serious negative impacts on the Mexican economy
A country full of 20 million new starving homeless people with no place to go will be an issue- does anyone disagree?
Don’t give me the knee-jerk “that’s their problem” - it could quickly become our problem under a number of scenarios.
Is that a bigger problem than having them here?
Seems like nobody considers the cost of “allowing” trespassers to stay here and collect/receive benefits, health care, public assistance, etc vs. “returning” them to wherever they came from. Whatever the cost, deduct it from the foreign aid to that particular country. Or stop with the foreign aid all together. Temporary housing may be available at stately obie manor in chitcago. They’ll never use it again.
Deport them to all the vacant homes in Syria.
What I’d hope Trump, Cruz, or anyone would say is this: you know how some of the lefties in California and elsewhere have been giving drivers licenses to the illegals? Well, use those liberal laws against them. Since they’re documented in a system now, we know exactly where to go and round them up. Boom.

Impossible! The left has assured me that the only way to deport is one at a time, tracked down individually and at great expense.
It’s the freebies that bring them here. They settle in states where the pickings are good. I remember working with an illegal alien who had her anchor baby. She brought him into work one day (he was about 12 months old). Around his little baby neck was a gold chain and on the gold chain was a little gold pendant: an ak47. I questioned her about it and she was babbling, “the papa, the papa!” Of course she could speak nothing but broken English. (This was when I worked a part-time job in fast food.) The freebies allows them to buy the stuff they really want while Americans do without.
Put up a border wall. Tell them to figure it out.
As long as their chaos doesn’t spill into the U.S., then it should not be our problem.
They are a sovereign nation. And that’s not a knee-jerk response.
‘Round here we get one or two illegals that start “nesting” in an area and before you know it they turn into a swarm.
Deport illegals!
Expel muslims!
Cut off freebies.

And...
No “sanctuary” cities hiding criminals
No driver licenses to illegals
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it. Begin it now."

Now that I like.
Use the $$$ to harden the elec grid as much as you can and with the spare change, build the wall that should have already been in place. It’s been “approved” by congress critters, so where’s the funding? Man these people can sure get under my skin. I mean they’re fighting over funding PP but not fighting over the wall/fence? WTH?
Deportation can work easily by using E-verify and cut off social aid. No problemo.
I’d bet that the percentage of valid and current addresses on illegals’ driver’s licenses is very low.
Tax companies that send money across the border 75%. $500,000 fine if they break the law. People will leave on their own.
I have no problem with medically treating illegals. Just need to add to the paperwork a valid address denoted by a phone/electric/gas bill and supporting ID. That data will be fed into the ICE/IRS/DMV database. This way they can be tracked and if there is a crime, a reference for deportation.
Also, any felony offense results in immediate deportation of family while convict serves time. Once sentence is fulfilled, that person is immediately deported. From prison to border.
