To: minnesota_bound

A quick internet search claimed the drive time was 4 hrs or so. I realize “LA” encompasses a huge land area and traffic congestion, but by the time you commute to the airport or train station, go through security, take the trip, claim your luggage, and rent a car, it seems like the same amount of time.

I made that trip ONCE in four hours, and had all factors in my favor, including high winds that kept the CHP plane grounded. This was in ‘82, the population was at least 20% less, to boot. Six hours is much more like it, nowadays.
