Urbandale social studies teacher Anne La Pietra had challenged her Advanced Placement social studies class to engage with presidential candidates from both parties to help students learn the power of their voice in reaching leaders to create positive change, Soenke said. She offered extra credit if they were able to get any presidential candidate, Democrat or Republican, to attend homecoming. Trump is the master of social media. Can one imagine Hillary or Jeb accepting the invite?
