From the article, it was a partner who was trying to get the casino in. And, you know what? Who the heck even cares now - it’s been so long ago. People sometimes don’t remember things exactly as they happened - and frankly, I don’t think Trump thought he was lying - and I’ll take his side over Bush’s any day - right or wrong - because I simply don’t want that man anywhere near the WH. No more Bushes!

But a Bloomberg investigation of the court battle between Trump and a former protégé, published in 2005, demonstrates that Trump did pursue a Florida casino project, and he did abandon it in the face of opposition from Governor Bush after he took office in 1999.

“When Florida Governor Jeb Bush nixed the idea, ‘Trump directed that the effort be terminated entirely,’” read court filings from Richard Fields, Trump’s former business partner.
