Trump tried to get Lawton Chiles on board with gaming in Florida. Chiles was the Governor before Bush. Trump did not approach Bush about it because it was well know Bush was rabidly opposed.
The biggest problem with Jeb is the Bush name. Even if he were a rock-ribbed, solid conservative I could support him for the nomination because the country doesn’t need and doesn’t want three Republican presidents in a row from the same family. The Bush name means he cannot win. Game over.
