Government funding should always be confined to basic research, and, perhaps, applied research in physics, physical chemistry, and mathematics.
My two top political issues for the last 10 years have been massive legal immigration and work visas, which have crushed the wage scale for low skill labor and for IT jobs, and have also crushed the corporate incentive to invest in labor saving devices and software, and have also supplied the Democrat Party with 20 million new Socialist voters.
I anger almost everyone at Free Republic when I admit that I am quietly rooting for the $15 minimum wage because it will totally destroy the economic rationale for massive legal immigration, and it will force low skill businesses to dramatically increase their capital expenditures.
You’re rightt about the voters and limited innovation and cap investment.
Immigration is my top issue too.
