I remember seeing a good buddy get taken to the cleaners in divorce court, oh, some 25 years ago or so. He wasn’t even left with enough to eat on after the alimony and child payments were added up let alone get an apartment or anything else.
I had tried marriage one time before that. After that I never did feel the need to get married again. I figure if I felt that strongly about a woman I could just go ahead and buy her a house and new car so I could get the financial pain over with and skip the whole marriage thing.
Count one here that has definitely stopped looking. Got burned by a two-faced temptress some years back and decided that was enough already. Moved into a little college town and life is much better nowadays. I start seeing someone, sometimes a college girl sometimes a bit older, and if it does not work out I just move on and no problems afterwards. If I feel the need, start seeing someone new and see how well it goes on. No demands, no pressures, no barristers necessary afterwards.
No worries.
