Unions are a minor part of today’s economy. I live in a right-to-work state, now and in the past. I have my own business and have no place or welcome for unions in my business. That said, there are some industries that have needed unions in the past, some that need it now. If I worked in an industry where a union added value, I would join one.
No it's is a HUGE part of today's economy [the Democratic Party money and muscle economy - and you haven't seen anything yet until you see all the people they're planning to unionize who'll be needed for Obamacare].
Add up the number of federal, state and local government employees and then reconsider.
A FReeper back in 2010 ran some numbers:
"...So this means that there's a government employee for every 13.5 people in the country."
PERS has a $12.5 billion unfunded liability.

I’m totally fine with Walker coming here and explaining how they got it done in Wisconsin where everyone wins. I have zero desire to see Nevada go bankrupt, especially since they raised business taxes on gross revenues, not profits to fund education.
I know quite a few good teachers here that would lose their job if the teacher unions had their way in Washoe.
It’s not the private sector unions, it’s the government unions. They are bleeding this country dry while they fail at their putative jobs, day after day after day.
Three (or four?) generations of illiterates coming out of the unionized public schools isn’t enough for you?
Yeah, sure, Donald Trump will change all of that. Except he won’t because I predict a Ross Perot like drop out in his future. Then we’ll be left with our thumbs up our behinds while Joe Biden cruises to victory.
THAT is my nightmare scenario.
And guess what, we’ll have NO ONE to BLAME but OURSELVES.
“If I worked in an industry where a union added value, I would join one.”..........
Please name one.
