If this were the reason Clinton had given when the story first broke she may have gotten away with it. Now? No one buys it.

You can't "hack" into a computer you're not connected to and it's not connected to you.

Maybe this defense is what the “hackers” had in mind. Recall the time Palin’s email was hacked and it turned out to be by some Democrat’s son.
