I recall a caller (in the 1990s) saying that while at the USS Arizona Memorial a college age young woman said she understood why the Japanese attacked.. because of the atomic bombs we dropped on their cities. That's more that fifty years later.. meanwhile about 50 hours after 9/11 2001:

the best and brightest Bee brains (Sacramento Bee "newspaper") had an editorial blaming us for the attack,

• we shared the blame along with the attackers
• who were just trying to get our attention because
• we refuse to "understand" the rest of the world.
• And within days of 9/11 liberals were calling the shows I listen to and emphatically stating that no way would they fly the Flag --
  the Flag was too Republican, they complained.
• Almost immediately the debate in the MSM was between those who would wear a Flag pin on the air and those who never wear a U.S. Flag pin period claiming that they're professionals and don't take sides, you see.
• A few weeks after the attacks the Sacramento Bee publisher was booed off the stage as she repeated the Bee editors' feeeelings and condemned Bush / Ashcroft for being mean to accused terrorists.
• The MSM employees rushed to publish opinion polls.. not about responding to the attack but
• polls that asked: "How do you feeeeeeeeeeeel? Are you scared?"
• and then there were the multitudinous MSM employee articles about how American Muslims were suffering abuse by evil Americans since the "event" on 9/11.
• I recall CAIR efforts urging Muslims to used the "event" to reach people about Islam.
