My middle daughter had been up a lot that night and I was still in my nightgown and housecoat when I saw the first plane hit (I was watching Fox news). Funny what you remember... I had a spit up stain on the left side of my gray housecoat. I can remember it so clearly. After the second plane hit.. we all knew. The rest of the day was just fear, sadness and anger. Out of all the pictures/video we saw that day, two stand out in my mind. The one image of the tall, black man covered in ash (his face devoid of any expression.. just shock) and when the fire department carried out the deceased priest. I think if I live to be a 100... those images are burned into my mind.
And They showed a Column of Firefighters ready to scale the Second Tower and My Father Made the Observation (The Only time anyone in my family spoke during the program)
That all those men we saw there, most likely were killed when the Tower Came down.
It made watching that even more Sobering.
Those images do stick with you. - I was home, husband had just walked out the door & was listening to the car radio, getting ready to leave for the day. He said, turn on the tv. - As those events transpired, we didn’t know what was facing us - maybe an invasion that would force us to defend ourselves, attacks all over the country, bombs; we just didn’t know. So we stayed on high alert. - If those Muslim terrorists thought it would be a good “witness” to us Christians; well, that was not the effect it had. In fact, Christ taught us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. - So; Muslim FAIL!
