Is he deceiving me? Man, I really hope not.

Me too, it's hard to figure out. He called out the GOP when no one else did by exposing the "vote for cloture and against the bill" fraud. It makes no sense to me. We know he's brilliant, what was his thinking on Corker?

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, released the following statement regarding votes on the Iran Nuclear Review Act:

“This bill was a missed opportunity. If Congress had acted to defend our constitutional authority – if Congress had adopted the Cruz-Toomey amendment – then we would be able to stop a bad Iran deal. Instead, the odds are now overwhelming that under these ground rules President Obama will negotiate, and Congress will acquiesce to, a terrible deal that allows Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and will endanger the lives of millions of Americans and our allies.

“I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because it may delay, slightly, President Obama’s ability to lift the Iran sanctions and it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal. I will continue to lead the fight to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to protect the national security of America and our allies.”

This is his explanation for his votes on that bill.

I am not sure what to think really. Whatever his reasoning is, the fact his that his name is down for support on a bill that could lead to a holocaust, nuclear war, apocalypse God only knows.

I would not have put my name on that damn thing for any reason on this earth.

So I am troubled by his vote for that reason.

Cruz voted for the final Corker bill because it gave a chance to debate the “Presidential executive agreement” with Iran. No Corker Bill, no debate necessary. He voted against other procedures in the Corker bill earlier.

What he is working on now, is not releasing the hundreds of billions in sanctions money to Iran. It is what the Iranians really want, and the President cannot give it to them by executive decision.

The Congress has to pass legislation to do that. It seems to me, that the Corker bill does not do it, unless the Congress says that it does.

The problem is that there are enough uniparty people like McConnel and Boehner in the Republican ranks to do it so as to make it appear that they opposed it.

Cruz is brilliant, but he just does not have the numbers of allies, yet.
