A Pit Bull from a puppy maybe, but not my breed of choice.
Even a well trained Pit from a puppy has strong protective instincts such that I'd never trust him/her around non-family.
A rescue Pit Bull, Ah Hell No!
FWIW. Which is probably not much...
Years ago my stepson came home with a dog. Probably 6 mo’s old. Little skinny thing. Some kinda mix. Surely no pit. Cute little thing, really friendly. He wanted to keep it. I said we’d see. He was playing with the dog and kept sticking his face in the dogs face. I told him to stop, he was going to get bitten.
So, I went to work. Got a call. The dog had bitten Bill in the face, right close to the eye. Did a surprising amount of damage for such a small dog. Took several stitches. Wife took the dog to the vet. The vet put him down.
Personally I have seen the exact same thing happen 3 times. Point is, people are stupid. Dogs are just instinctive.
The next day I took my belt and popped my stepson 4 or 5 times pretty good. Had a poor little puppy killed because of his ignorance. Well, you can’t call it ignorance because I had told him what would happen.
Pit Bulls are clearly misunderstood and stand no chance here of being able to live a normal and peaceful life. That said I think we should allow them to immigrate to the Middle Eastern Country of their choice so they can start new productive lives among their own kind.
A couple months ago we adopted a lab/mix puppy from a local shelter. We saw the mother. She looked to be a lab crossed with a border collie. We took the little guy home and as he has grown we’ve noticed a few features that have us thinking dad was at least part pit bull. The shape of the head, ears that stick out and can be directionally pointed like a chameleon’s eyes, short hair, and long skinny tail. But so far he is very sweet, extremely calm for a puppy, very smart, and has been a total joy to have around.
I think we’ll keep him.
bulldogs were created and bread to attack.
By design they were created to attack the throat.
TPB
Most of them would never hurt a fly, but enough of them are killers that they kill as many people as every other breed combined.
Freepers like it simple
How much you wanna bet that 16 year old girl tried to get down on the dogs level and tried hugging around his neck before she ever got to know him. Seems logical since she was attacked in the face and throat area. Most dog attacks are the results of ignorance by the owners.
Look at this:
These are not a pitbulls.
The left is a Standard type American Bulldog. The right is a Bully type American Bulldog.
You are correct. I know that there will be a bunch of Pit Bull lovers on here but the truth is they are not a good companion animal and they are not a family dog. Pit Bulls are an aggressive breed that need a strong experienced owner. There are lots of breeds of dogs that will naturally protect you and your property without being a menace.
