why,even in our majority governed town, over the weekend was a shooting spree. If compared in scale to the size of the city, would have us in the same hotly contested level as Chi town.Two killed numerous wounded. Meridian is trying hard to beat Jackson the capitol,as capital of the thug life.
In spite laws against shooting in the city, and laws against shooting people, the police response is basically to tale the names, clean up the mess and hide locations and names from the people. This area is about to spend 4 million on a basketball gym with 4 full inside courts, yet can’t build or repair the former yudt detenshun facility, which was deemed unfit by the SPLC and other concerned parties. Hence, youthful murderers have been released with a slap on the wrist and a GPS on the ankle.
But the crime and high taxes are not what is keeping the businesses from coming here. It’s unkempt yards accoprding to one city councilman. Oh yeah, he’s a engineer in a former life....

As you correctly note, 'lede' is a noun. In the sentence, 'if it bleeds, it leads', 'leads' is a verb. Only the most agrammatical person would insist that the sentence should read 'if it bleeds, it ledes'.

Lede , as we shall spell it henceforth, was defined as "a noun to refer to the initial summary of the story, or as a verb to instruct the printer what to put first" by Dorothy Colburn, a Nebraska English teacher, in the February 1927 issue of American Speech, though she held to the standard spelling. The use of the old verb as a noun was daring: Samuel Johnson stigmatized its use in this new way, in the sense of "first place," as "a low despicable word." (Can you imagine what he'd think of the modern harmless drudges who call his early dictionary "a good read ?" Perhaps rede would improve that vogue word; on second thought, I reckon not.)

My hometown of La Crosse Wi has just experienced three separate incidents of multiple shootings in certain parts of the city over the past month.

In one incident, one individual chased another down the street shooting at him in a middle class residential neighborhood finally killing him.

Before La Crosse became uh diversified about twenty years ago, nothing like that ever occurred. Now it is becoming a weekly occurrence.

City police and officials throw up their hands expressing words of disbelief and inability to figure out why the shootings are happening. But everyone else knows why.

WTOK dot com will get you a sampling of stupidity that won’t make you forget your problems, but make you wonder if flouride in drinking water, chemtrails or something else ain’t the root of the mass idiocy.
on a somber and sober note, if our leaders wont stop this senseless slaughter,and honorable brave men can’t count on each other, what will be the end result be? The answer is more troubling considering who we were a generation or so ago.
