Jim have you read his book? It’s too good to be true.
Every paragraph is full of stuff like this:
Read his book. This comes right out of it:
What people need to know is what the great conservative economist and writer Thomas Sowell taught us: in the world of economics, there are no such things as solutions, only tradeoffs. Every action has a consequence. Every decision has an upside and a downside. So you make smart decisions that minimize harm and maximize freedom. One of the many reasons why Im a conservative is because I believe in the so-called Law of Unintended Consequencesthe idea that, no matter how good governments intentions, when you start social engineering or messing around with the free market, more often than not you open a Pandoras box of negatives you didnt see coming.
“Find out what whiskey he drinks and send it to all my generals, if it will get the same results. replied Lincoln”
Notice, not in the least PC - the sort of thing Trump, and most non-DC types would say.
It is rather enjoyable to watch a man man-handle the press like they’re rag dolls. No other candidate has been able to do this, in my memory other than Reagan. Reagan did it with charm, Trump does it with insults and sarcasm but they DESERVE THAT.
This is how we do it!
I am concerned some of his talk is merely 'talk' though. The show 'The Apprentice' was politically correct so how can he attack political correctness? This confuses me.
That is brilliant. I hope he will start saying things like that in speeches or debates.
Pace and prep. Be prepared. Go with your gut!
I agree. If Trump really handles our illegal problem with a wall, and deportation and without giving amnesty to manufactured sad “victim” faces, that would be a win for us like we have not seen a couple of decades.
Ditto.
Jim, I am sitting back and enjoying the show. I have reservations about Trump as President. But he is raising issues that need to be raised; the current political structure would like to just ignore illegal immigration, ending welfare (forget “reform,” it just needs to be ended), a hostile business climate, etc...
The current political leadership lacks the political will to lead. Maybe Trump can drag them kicking and screaming to get back to work and do their jobs.
Exactly. Trump is clueless on this. I don't trust him for a minute to do the right thing.
I loved your post about Churchill and Trump, and raising up a flawed man. We are all flawed, and not all good traits translate into good leadership. For example, we could all say we would support someone who is a teetotaler, non-smoker, vegetarian who loves animals, isn’t a womanizer, and is a decorated combat veteran to boot. All admirable personal traits.
And Adolph Hitler had all of them.
“Success in business is usually dependent on choosing the right people.”
I’m 99% behind Trump now. I’d be at 100% but am not sure what he’d do if/when it came time to appoint someone to SCOTUS. I do believe he could be educated, though, with input from the right people.
Other than that, he has the magic touch and the connections to gather a Dream Team for every top job.
Thanks, samtheman!
Trumps going to have some real serious problems if he ever makes it to the Presidency....he understands so little he’ll have to ‘be led’ around Washington dynamics and that will leave him open to manipulation pretty easily...no amount of people he hires is going to be enough for him to grasp the entirety of what he’s going to be contending with....because we don’t have the time for him to fumble around in Washington as he’s done in his campaign...that will not work in the halls of power...
I’ve been waiting to jump in on this thread and decided to just say DITTO your post!
Absolutely unreal to me. Trump is a RINO that just happens to be attacking the Media and DEM’s.... and everyone is dancing to his pipe.
Not me....
"We've never had it so great. Finally a man comes along and takes the establishment head-on and kicks the crap out of them. Is that not a good thing?"
Because in so doing, he's taking oxygen away from the Constitutional conservative you and I both know is desperately needed to save this nation, Ted Cruz.
Amen.
Take the Wayback machine to 2006 and put yourself at a party where some lunatic is telling you that the colorful Democrat celebrity billionaire host of "The Apprentice," Donald "You're Fired!" Trump, was:
a) going to be the Republican presidential candidate 10 years from right then, you in 2006, wherever you were --
AND that:
b) you would be so enthusiastically willing to vote for him ...
... you'd have busted out laughing and felt a little insulted.
Yet here we are.
Frog. Pot. Boiling water.
Unlike some here, I have completely lost my taste for milquetoast.
Remind me again what Trump’s social positions are, Chaplain.
I think the world of you but take a step back. Trump has a mouth. So does Cruz.
Cruz has a conservative record to back his talk. Trump does not. Let’s back the conservative while he’s still there to back and stop the Trump nonsense.
