They still havent figured out Donald Trump.
GOP leaders thought theyd outfox the frontrunner-they-dont-want by making him sign a mafia-style loyalty pledge to the GOP. He signed it, no problem. And why not? The Republican Party isnt exactly the Sopranos. What are they going to do if he breaks the pledge anyway? Break his thumbs?
In return, the geniuses behind this idea have now forced every other GOP contender to vow support for Trump if he wins the nominationalong with whoever he chooses as his running mate. Which prompts us to ask a fun and fascinating question: Just who would that running mate be?
Too soon to envision a Trump ticket, you say? Well, why should that stop us? After all, America has had to endure a year or more of earnest speculation among DC pundits about a potential Bush or Clinton White Housevision quests that are literally putting voters to sleep. So what exactly would GOP nominee Trump do? We know, of course, what the ever-predictable professional political class would advise: that Trump pick someone with considerable Washington experience to balance the ticket. Maybe a solid Midwestern senator like Rob Portman. Or someone who can help solve his alleged problems with the women, like a Kelly Ayotte or maybe a Nikki Haley. He might, theyd suggest, pick a safe, calming choicelike some of the more establishment-approved Republicans hed just run against. A Jeb Bush or a John Kasich or a Marco Rubio.

Sarah Palin.
Just a suggestion...
Why? Why are we bothering with primaries then?
I nominate Rinse Prius, to keep a tail on Trump for the GOPee.
Marco RINEO.. fits..
Trump is a long shot to win the nomination. It is four solid months before anyone begins casting votes. Peaked too early.
We need to focus like a laser on kicking Boner and Ditch for the next 9 months.
Pollutico is a left wing rag so the idea of coronations aren’t all that alien to them.
Its still better than 5 months before the first votes are tallied.
Cruz
Col. Allen West
Ted Nugent
Carson surgeon general
I think Walker should stay governor
Trump/Gingrich, maybe
Like George Herschel Walker Bush with Reagan? Enough already.
Ummm... How about we get through until January or so? No hurry. Let the GOPe idiots disqualify themselves and the dems get more desperate before we give them the opportunity to do the opposition research.
TRANSLATION: We can’t get to Trump head-on, so we’ll try an end-run by attacking whomever he picks for his VP.
Gingrich can bring his buddy Van Jones with him and they can work on those racist laws that are locking up all the innocent black folks.
Ted Cruz. He’s needed to guide Trump through the Constitutional issues re all the things Trump wants to do. And, Cruz can write all the legislation .. and show Trump how to deal with the Congress.
And .. after 8 years, I want another person ready to take the helm .. for another 8 years.
It may take that long to put America back together.
Trump an Gingrich are to much like each other, it would NEVER work they would be butting heads constantly!!! Trump NEEDS Cruz he is more likely to want to learn Trumps demeanor and no nonsense style!!!! The press would DESTROY the name of Gingrich on the ticket!!!! Waaaaaay to much baggage!!!!!
He will be Hillary Clinton’s running mate. He is left of center. Always was, always will be.
