Sounds like we are way behind in having capability in the Arctic. The title indicates Obama is pushing to get these built; hard to believe he would make a decision that is in our best interest however. Probably more to the story.

I’ll bet that the new icebreakers will not have steel prows fitted for icebreaking but rather hemp woven prows for more environmental friendliness.

Won’t global warming take care of that? We just need kayaks to reach it in a year or two.

I thought Barry said that all of the ice in the Arctic had melted. Why are we going to waste money building icebreakers. We can feed, house and provide lots of “free” healthcare to a lot of illegal alien invaders with that money.

Alaska for one! We aren’t Switzerland; we have interests in many places around the world.
We already have to ask the Soviets to take us into space.
Asking them to lead us around the Arctic when needed; isn’t a smart thing for us to be doing.
