I wish I could be there but it’s physically impossible for me on short notice. Maybe some of our FReepers in the area can attend.

It’s about a twelve hour drive for me, but I am seriously considering it.

Mat Staver, Davis’ attorney, accused Bunning on Friday of violating constitutional law and said he will file an appeal and writ of habeas corpus to get her released. http://www.ibtimes.com/kim-davis-update-kentucky-clerks-attorney-says-marriage-licenses-issued-friday-are-2084218

keep her there until she caves in

I wonder how long to the end of her term. If she fails to run again it would seem to remove the grounds for contempt.

There are no grounds for contempt. She has done nothing illegal and nothing wrong.

To hold otherwise would set a dangerous precedent.”

Indeed. Principled dissent was dangerous in the past, as that is how the the OT faith continued and the NT church began, as did America.

Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed–nego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (Daniel 3:10-12)

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions. (Daniel 6:7)

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. (Daniel 6:10)

And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders, And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things? (Mark 11:27-28)

But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name. (Acts 4:17)

But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. (Acts 4:19-20)

Huckabee is the one doing the heavy lifting politically for this clerk. Cruz is just grand standing and issuing position papers. Huck is organizing a rally and will be on the ground in Kentucky.

Huck is a little slow...

Supporters to Stage “I’m with Kim” Rally at Jail

LC.org September 4, 2015

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel, will join supporters at a rally outside the Carter County Detention Center on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. ET. The “I’m with Kim” Rally is organized by Gov. Mike Huckabee. Liberty Counsel is willing to join any group that stands in support of Kim Davis.

“I visited with Kim today, and she is good spirits,” Staver said. “I went to the jail to encourage her, but she encouraged me! Her opening and closing comment was, ‘All is well!’”

Kim Davis supporters have been calling, emailing, and using social media to ask, “What can I do to help Kim?” Liberty Counsel has already heard from pastors who are sending buses of supporters to the rally on Tuesday. If you are near Kentucky, here is a great opportunity to stand against judicial tyranny and the unlawful imprisonment of Kim. Join us on Tuesday, September 8, at 3:00 p.m.!”

They let maniacs post bail and this woman can’t ???

Dreadful.

She's obviously a flight risk... maybe to a state where they don't perpetually send Mitch McConnell to Washington D.C.

Her last words before leaving were, “All is well.”

Kim Davis reminds me of the Book of Acts, more specifically, when Simon Peter and John were imprisoned for being faithful to Jesus.

They were not just at peace with their imprisonment, but they were actually joyful that they were able honor Jesus through being persecuted.

Although I am upset that Kim is in prison, at the same time I am not worried about her because I sense she is glad to be able to serve Jesus in this way.

Your words really impacted me, and thank you for them. I just got home from synagogue where the Rabbi was talking about Peter being in prison, and how the shackles were sprung from his arms. Right behind that he talked about Kim Davis, connected it like you did.

I pray she is strengthened in her spirit, that her worship and praise of the Holy One resound throughout the prison she’s in!! Just like the jailer in Peter’s day, may those around her receive the word of God!

That girl has a crown coming to her!

She’s being held at the pleasure of the Judge. No bail in these contempt bench rulings...

Sadly and I say that because I used to be a big fan of Trumps' Trump does not appears to realize that the federal courts have absolutely no authority to define what is and is not a "marriage". Federalizing marriage is completely unConstitutional, it was an illegal and immoral decision by a rouge court. Trump should understand that, but he doesn't.

Saying the law is the law and it time to move on is giving aid and comfort to the Marxist left in their war on Christianity. If this stands no Christian can ever serve in government again without fear of persecution. Already Christian are being driven out of business and now Christians will be driven out of government.

Trump is siding with homosexuals against Christians. he is going to pay at the polls as Christians slowly realize Trump is against them and against natural law.

She’s bigger than Rosa Parks when it comes to our (all of our) civil rights.

I’m delighted you are weighing carefully Donald’s past, his words and judgment!

If he truly loves the scriptures from his heart, why has he profaned his marriage covenants, for example?

Words matter, but so do real deeds.

Mark 10
2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.
6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;
8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

Malachi 2
14 Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the LORD hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
