I think it’s right that she’s not resigning.
The Constitution says there can be no religious test to pass in order to hold public office.
No one who believes like her is permitted to hold office in the US, apparently.

On point. I’ll add, what happened when states allowed gay marriages before the supreme court ruling? Were those states not at odds with federal law? Did any clerks go to jail FOR issuing marriage licenses to gay couples?
I don’t believe they did. Now all of a sudden, boom goes the dynamite. It’s amazing how the fedgov picks and chooses what to enforce ala drugs in Colorado, sanctuary cities etc...
My husband called the American Center for Law and Justice (Sekulow’s group) to see if they knew about her legal representation. ACLJ isn’t representing her, but they said she does have a good lawyer. That’s good news. He asked them what we can do to help and it appears she’s in good shape as of now.
She is doing what her conscience is telling her to do, not what I would do, but I am not her. Prayers for her.
Because there are many churches in this land that are pro gay marriage, with their clergy proudly performing gay marriage ceremonies.
But the catholic church is monolithic...if there are any parishes that are an exception, I don’t know about them, and such a parish would not be in good standing with the vatican
This makes it a much better target for the leftists.
My diocese had a Bishop who attended mass where gay unions were blessed. The Vatican, ie the future Pope Bennedict, came down pretty hard on them. It created a schism and the Bishop had to cease all such “blessings”. The priest in question left with a lot of his parish and formed his own church. He took a nun with him that he later ordained. What a mess that was.
They have to order their cake first.
