Well one thing I'm glad about is that this effectively discredits the conspiracy theory that some of the anti-Trumpers had that Trump was a Trojan Horse who would eventually pull a Perot and run a third party campaign, handing the White House to another Clinton.
I'm thinking we can finally put that conspiracy theory to bed.
Don't see how Trump can not get the nomination at this point. The man running second to him in all the polls is Ben Carson - another non-politician. The others are far behind. As Carson eventually fades, I don't see those supporters going to a conventional establishment Republican. They are going to switch allegiance to Trump.
Put Trump and Carson's poll numbers together and you are already close to 50% of the vote. These supporters are not going to wake up some morning and say "Gee whiz, what was I thinking? I think I'm going to support Jebbie Bush!"

I still contend that it is Carson, not Trump, who is the "flash in the pan." He is currently given a jolt by people deserting Bush, Rubio, and even Cruz and some of the seven dwarfs. They like Trump but are afraid to go that far for fear of being seen as "mean," so Carson is the kindly Trump, sort of like those Direct TV commercials.
The real Donald Trump comes out and says "I'm Donald Trump" and Carson comes out and says, "I'm a nicer, non-confrontational Donald Trump."
I think---could be wrong---that by the next cycle of polling Trump is still way up and Carson is back down at the 10% level.
