It will in NY and of course the massholes love that sort of stuff too. I was at a patriot's day celebration in Lexington many years ago, when I observed a kid wanting his mother to buy him a little toy musket. Not only did she yell at the kid, but lit into the vendor for selling toy muskets (we're talking about a 6 inch toy here maybe a little bigger - It was a good 20 years ago). I don't remember what the vendor said, but nothing too radical, probably if you don't like it don't buy it or something like that - far less than I'd have told her anyway.
