I looked up your former abode on wiki. Not named for the movie star but a black activist and board member of the CHA. 28 high rises of which the last was demolished in 2007. I visited Chicago a few times in the 1980s and I guess I saw some of them from the Dan Ryan. The grated stairwells or whatever they were covering were a nice touch of menace. You have my respect for surviving.
