Well, Trump's been saying all along that the Politicians are terrible negotiators. This is a great case in point. Reince goes to Trump Towers. It's on Trump's turf. Trump has the clear advantage in any negotiations that take place.

Trump will have even more leverage if he makes the loyalty commitment reciprocal. "Will all 16 others support me if I am the nominee?"

I’m sure Donald Trump is knowledgeable enough about contract negotiations to gain consideration in return for any contractual constraint. If he gives something up, he’s going to get something in return, and on the whole he’ll gain more than he loses or he won’t agree.

That’s the problem with just reversing the call for loyalty. No, Trumps negotiation demand needs to be something stronger. Not sure what yet but it needs to really hit the GOP should they break it.
