If I were Trump, I would accept the deal with the following condition: All negative campaigning between Republican candidates must stop. So the deal is off the instant any Republican or Republican backed PAC group runs negative ads against Trump.
The Republican party would probably never agree to that because they are getting read to spend hundreds of million dollars on an anti-Trump ad campaign.

That would probably be illegal. PACs and campaigns can’t coordinate.
The silly thing in all this is that “sore loser” laws mean Trump could only run as a ‘write in” candidate anyway.
This is just the GOPe trying to gin up a talking point.

The problem with that is that the PACs not only aren’t bound by candidate requests, but aren’t even supposed to communicate.
