Exclusive: RNC Reince to Meet The Donald at Trump Tower to Discuss GOP ‘Loyalty Pledge'
Breitbart ^ | September 2,2015 | Alex Marlow & Stephen K. Bannon

Posted on 09/02/2015 5:22:14 PM PDT by Hojczyk

A source with knowledge of these matters has confirmed to Breitbart News exclusively that RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will meet with Donald Trump “at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan tomorrow afternoon to discuss the ‘loyalty pledge.'”

Politico reported earlier today that the RNC plans to ask candidates to sign a pledge that they will support whoever is nominated by the Republican Party and not oppose them in the general election. The political magazine speculated that the pledge is designed to “force the front-runner’s [Trump’s] hand”:

The Republican National Committee on Wednesday privately reached out to GOP presidential candidates to ask whether they’d be willing to sign a pledge stating they would not run as an independent candidate in the event they fail to win the Republican nomination in 2016.

The move is an implicit challenge to Trump, who pointedly refused to rule out a third-party run during the first GOP debate. He was the only candidate who declined.

The language of the draft pledge speaks directly to the issue vexing Republicans – the possibility that the billionaire could choose to wage a third party bid if he fails to win the GOP nomination, a prospect that could seriously damage the GOP’s prospects of reclaiming the White House. Tapping into deep anti-establishment animosity among the conservative grassroots, Trump has surged to the lead of the deepest presidential field in recent memory. If Trump were to pull just a fraction of the vote as an independent, write-in or third party candidate, it could be enough to sink the eventual Republican nominee.

The source also tells Breitbart News that requesting candidates to pledge not to run as a third party has been a topic of internal debate at the Republican National Committee for several weeks.

Better still, say that “I will sign yours, when (give him a very long list) these a$$holes will sign mine pledging all-out support for me when I win the Primary, along with a side pledge not to “diddle” the delegates to the nominating convention.”

Good plan. Because we all know how the GOPe-RINO axis is filled with a bunch of diddlers.

....If Hillary becomes the frontrunner. With Obama giving his blessings to Biden to run if he decides to run, it could mean Obama will throw Hillary under the bus.

That means that Trump can’t do any negative ads either. Not a good idea.

All Trump has to do is to make comments on his Twitter feed, and the media will re-broadcast it over and over and over (because they can't help themselves) and Trump will get the message out (positive or negative) and the media will be bearing the cost of it.

Trump is the flame, the media are nothing but moths.

SMART MOVE by Trump...to DEMAND LOYALTY from people that I’m now absolutely convinced will finance a THIRD PARTY run to throw the election to Biden.

Why? Because they know that they will be OUT OF WORK if Trump wins, but not if Trump loses.

But the GOP would never agree to it because they are already planning a massive campaign blitz against Trump. That’s why I suggested he throw that condition in there. They’d never go for it and he’d come out of this smelling like a rose.

Look, I despise the RNC as much as anyone, however, the comments from some on here are way over the top. Things like - Trump fire RP. He has no authority to do that, nor can he tell the head of the Republican Committee to bugger off. If he wins the primary - Trump is going to need things from the RNC. This isn’t one man against the world - although at times it seems like it. There are times when one has to do the right thing and play by the rules. Sure, the GOPE hasn’t but they are already in office. Trump is trying to get to the Oval Office.

Trump would be perceived as “knuckling under” to the establishment if he signed their pledge. At least by some, subconsciously by many I think.
Not good for an anti-establishment candidate.

I think that may be the real idea behind this, after all.

No, I think they don’t want the party split which would ensure a DEM victory - and it would. Trump said he wouldn’t run 3rd party if they treat him well. However, he never outlined what that entailed. I don’t perceive it as knuckling under to the establishment. I see it as the establishment embracing him as a legitimate candidate. If he does sign it - then those who get their panties in a was over it have the wrong agenda. We want Trump to win, but, he can’t always be a lone wolf.

I was thinking more along the lines of telling him he could attempt to copulate with himself.

Another term for the “Thad Cochran” pledge?

Say Rince, how’s that Lisa Murkowski working out?

The Donald should create a contract affirming he will not run as an Independent IF the NRC and the other eligible candidates will affirm that they will support him once he is nominated.

Printed Signature blocks for Reince Priebus, Chairman, RNC,
and each remaining eligible Republican Candidate.

Which of them would sign?
