A source with knowledge of these matters has confirmed to Breitbart News exclusively that RNC Chairman Reince Priebus will meet with Donald Trump at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan tomorrow afternoon to discuss the loyalty pledge.'
Politico reported earlier today that the RNC plans to ask candidates to sign a pledge that they will support whoever is nominated by the Republican Party and not oppose them in the general election. The political magazine speculated that the pledge is designed to force the front-runners [Trumps] hand:
The Republican National Committee on Wednesday privately reached out to GOP presidential candidates to ask whether theyd be willing to sign a pledge stating they would not run as an independent candidate in the event they fail to win the Republican nomination in 2016.
The move is an implicit challenge to Trump, who pointedly refused to rule out a third-party run during the first GOP debate. He was the only candidate who declined.
The language of the draft pledge speaks directly to the issue vexing Republicans the possibility that the billionaire could choose to wage a third party bid if he fails to win the GOP nomination, a prospect that could seriously damage the GOPs prospects of reclaiming the White House. Tapping into deep anti-establishment animosity among the conservative grassroots, Trump has surged to the lead of the deepest presidential field in recent memory. If Trump were to pull just a fraction of the vote as an independent, write-in or third party candidate, it could be enough to sink the eventual Republican nominee.
The source also tells Breitbart News that requesting candidates to pledge not to run as a third party has been a topic of internal debate at the Republican National Committee for several weeks.

What would Priebus and the RNC have to offer Trump other than threats?
I don’t see Trump being one who is intimidated by threats.
I hope Trump records it.
Rancid Penis, the GOPe’s “house boy!” If there was such a thing as a “white lawn jockey,” Rancid would be the model!
I guess I just presumed Reince was sticking it out to protect Walker and funnel as much money to Walker as possible.
As to why Reince still has the job ... that does make one ponder as to the real motives of the GOPe. Did they want a loser in the top position so they could control him or did they want to insure another loss by keeping out a real conservative as the R nominee?
The nerve of any politician “taking a pledge”!!! Isn’t their oath of office a “pledge”? These self-centered, poseurs apparently break their oath to defend America against enemies foreign and domestic daily, hourly, if not every second. They are a criminal class.
They can keep him off the primary ballots in several states. I dunno, maybe he should sign it with some stipulations. Just because he doesn’t run 3rd party and says he will support the other person doesn’t mean he has to stump for that candidate. There are several I know he wouldn’t want to back - such as Jeb, Paul, Perry. They don’t want the party split and lose to Hillary - which is a legitimate concern. Perot did it, and we ended up with 8 years of the criminal Clintons. I would want assurances that the RNC will support Trump 100% should he win the nomination - that could be his counter offer - not to pull shenanigans with the delegates either.
Stick that loyalty pledge where the sun don’t shine....Trump should be calling the shots, he’s the party leading candidate therefore the “party leader”...
“Take the pledge and break it later if needed...”
Hell, he can just lie, like the rest of the RINOs. In fact, he can do that just to prove he is a Republican.
I have yet to see a loyalty pledge from the GOP to the conservative base. I don’t or haven’t made up my mind yet about the Trump but I’ll be damned if I give good GOP a blanket endorsement
“I hope Trump will tell the little fairy to stick it where the sun doesnt shine.”
Better still, say that “I will sign yours, when (give him a very long list) these a$$holes will sign mine pledging all-out support for me when I win the Primary, along with a side pledge not to “diddle” the delegates to the nominating convention.”
A bargain works both ways. If Trump were to do it, he should make it on condition that no one associated with the RNC works against him. Other wise any agreement would be null and void.
By that do you mean “to attempt the aerial copulation of a perforated flying pastry?”
That would probably be illegal. PACs and campaigns can’t coordinate.
The silly thing in all this is that “sore loser” laws mean Trump could only run as a ‘write in” candidate anyway.
This is just the GOPe trying to gin up a talking point.
I’d like to see Trump endorse primary opponents of beltway cartel members.
The problem with this kind of thinking is that Trump would lose all credibility and would be perceived as a man who doesn’t keep his word. How do you think that would play out in the 24/7 media spin? Some on here need to step back and remember this is a presidential race. I’m a Trump supporter, but I sure as heck don’t think he is Superman and invincible, like some on here do. Whatever he decides to do - I will support his decision in the matter.
FURP.
That means that Trump can’t do any negative ads either. Not a good idea.
Why talk to Donald? He has no chance... Right?
